CULTURAL EQUITY COLLABORATIVE IN CULTURAL EQUITY
There is a team of several people exchanging ideas.
In the team, there are :
- researchers
- artists
- people who work in the cultural milieu
- deaf people
- hearing people
The team wants to understand the needs of deaf people and people with disabilities.
The team wants to understand the needs of people who work in the cultural milieu.
The team wants to make culture more accessible to everyone.

DAYS OF COLLECTIVE REFLECTION
The group organizes study days called Days of Collective Reflection.
Researchers, students, artists, and people who work in the cultural milieu come together.
Participants share their ideas, their ways of working and their challenges.
Participants work for cultural citizenship and for accessibility.
These people want to make culture more accessible to everyone.
There will be a day of collective reflection on May 6, 2022.
Participants will discuss :
- cultural citizenship
- how deaf people express themselves through art
- how deaf people and hearing people can create together
- ways to make culture more accessible
- ways to give access to culture to everyone in the same way

Residency for artists of diversity with disabilities
ART FROM THE SINGULAR TO THE PLURAL
The art of the singular in the plural
is an artist residency.
An artist residency
is a place of creation for artists.
There will be 10 guest artists
at the residency L’art du singulier au pluriel.
The 10 artists have different abilities.
There are deaf artists,
or disabled.
There are neuro-atypical artists
who have a different way
of thinking.
There are psycho-atypical artists
who have a different way
to experience their feelings.
The 10 artists are:
- Carlos Melomano Parra Duran
- Denyse Beaudry
- Gaétane Cummings
- Hodan Youssouf
- Isaac Leal
- Marie-Andrée Poulin
- Marven Clerveau
- Véro Leduc
- Yves Alavo
The artists will think together
of crip art,
of deaf art,
of autistic art
and crazy art.
The artists will create works together
with different art forms.
The art of the singular in the plural
will take place from May 25 to 27, 2022
at the Afromusée de Montréal.

Deux groupes ont travaillé en équipe
pour organiser la résidence d’artiste
L’art du singulier au pluriel :
- Visions sur l’Art Québec
- la Chaire de recherche du Canada
sur la citoyenneté culturelle
des personnes sourdes
et les pratiques d’équité culturelle.
La résidence d’artiste
est dirigée par Géatanne Cummings
et Véro Leduc.

Census of cultural accessibility
The group wants to know how to make culture accessible to deaf people and people with disabilities.
The group wants to know what means are in place to make culture accessible.
The group wants to know the tools and regulations that exist to make culture accessible for deaf people and people with disabilities.
The group wants to know whether deaf people and people with disabilities are being consulted.

Music at your fingertips
Since 2018, Véro Leduc has beendoing research on deaf music.
Véro is working with Line Grenier, a communications professor at Université de Montréal.
She also works with deaf people and hearing people :

- Clément Decault
- Hodan Youssouf
- Jennifer Manning
- Mélina Bernier
The Music at your fingertips project includes :
- A collection of deaf music. The collection contains original music and songs translated in sign languages
- 11 video interviews with deaf people holding expertise in sign languages who tell about their musical journey
- A group interview with 8 deaf adults who speak about the importance of music in their lives
- Video capsules that present interview excerpts
- Reflection workshops based on the video capsules
